Mr. Vandenberg has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice as well as a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources - Training and Development from Seton Hall University. He received training in the field of Accident Reconstruction through Northwestern University.

Mr. Vandenberg retired as a Patrol Lieutenant from the Midland Park Police Department in 2014 after serving for 29 years.  Mr. Vandenberg was the department's Traffic Unit Supervisor and Field Training Supervisor and served as an Investigator with the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit Task Force for 5 years. Mr. Vandenberg is a past member and Regional Representative of the Police Traffic Officers Association of Bergen County Pedestrian Safety Committee.  Prior to retiring he was a police instructor at the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute for 26 years and continues to instruct on a volunteer basis.

Mr. Vandenberg has held a Class A Commercial Drivers License since 1989 and has both over-the-road and local experience as a tractor-trailer operator. Mr. Vandenberg developed a course curriculum and instructed CDL Operator Classes for unemployed and underemployed adults for a non-profit organization in Mississippi for 4 years.  He was also an instructor and regular guest speaker for the Driver's Education Program at the Midland Park High School.

Since joining Klingen & Associates in 2014 Mr. Vandenberg is fully accredited as an accident reconstruction by ACTAR and has been trained as a Bosch Crash Data Retrieval Technician.  Mr. Vandenberg is a member of New Jersey Association of Accident Reconstructionists (NJAAR) New York Statewide Traffic Accident Reconstruction Society (NYSTARS) and the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA).

Mr. Vandenberg and his wife Linda enjoy traveling and spending as much time as they can with their kids and granddaughter. He enjoys golf and is an avid hockey fan and occasionally still plays with his son.  He is very active in his church and has been a middle school youth group leader for over 20 years.
