Robert Klingen

Mr. Klingen has a unique combination of accident investigation and reconstruction experience in both the criminal and civil domains.  As a retired Chief of Police and former police officer with over twenty five years of experience focused primarily on traffic safety and a 12 year member of the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit Task Force, he has personally investigated and reconstructed thousands of motor vehicle accidents ranging from low-speed impacts to fatal or serious injury collisions, many involving criminal prosecutions.  In addition to his law enforcement background, Mr. Klingen has been a certified EMT and ambulance operator for over 30 years, making him a well-respected expert in investigating emergency vehicle accidents.

As an accident reconstructionist in a consulting firm, Mr. Klingen has over 30 years of experience in the private sector and has participated in over 2,500 crash reconstructions and analyses.  He has vast knowledge, training, and experience and specializes in preparing clear and concise crash analysis reports to be used in civil litigation from both the plaintiff and defense perspectives.

Mr. Klingen has a Master Degree in Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University and Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Mercy College.  He also graduated from the West Point Command and Leadership Program sponsored by the N.J. State Association of Chiefs of Police.

Mr. Klingen serves as Vice President of the N.J. Association of Accident Reconstructionists and previously served on the Pedestrian Safety Task Force of the Bergen County Police Traffic Officers Association.

Mr. Klingen has completed over 1,000 hours of formal accident reconstruction training and has been fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstructionists (ACTAR) since 1993 and has been qualified as an expert witness more than 70 times by federal and state courts in both NY & NJ, as well as several municipal courts. 

On a personal level, Mr. Klingen has made numerous overseas mission trips to serve underprivileged people in Haiti, Uganda, Mexico, and the Philippines. He is presently the Chairman of the Rotary District 7490 Gift of Life Foundation and he and his wife Charlene have hosted numerous children brought in for life saving surgery through the Gift of Life program.  He enjoys boating, baseball, traveling and his 6 beautiful grandchildren.
